LIS Livestock Identification Services Ltd. (LIS) is a not-for-profit industry owned agency, whose mission is to facilitate commerce through verification, identification, information and inspection services that enhance value in the livestock industry. As such, LIS’ very existence is premised on the mandate to constantly look for and add value to the livestock industry in Alberta.
LIS is committed to being recognized as an industry leader in the applied field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and recognizes that in so doing we will add measurable value to our employees, the communities in which we work and to the Alberta livestock industry as a whole.
The LIS – CSR policy coordinates with, and aligns to, LIS’ Governance and Accountability Statement, Corporate Objectives and Corporate Direction.
LIS aims to conduct business in a socially responsible and ethical manner, support human rights, support the humane treatment of livestock, respect and support the communities in which we work by encouraging our staff to be social and economic assets to their local communities.
LIS is a provider of services rather than products. However, in carrying out our operations the company does make use of natural and man-made resources. LIS acknowledges the environmental benefits of reducing the consumption of these resources and encourages our employees to seek alternative options and make use of recycling initiatives wherever appropriate and available.
The LIS – CSR Policy in relation to corporate philanthropy is based on strategic value with measurable impact to both society and LIS. The desired outcome is corporate social integration where society and LIS obtain shared value for the investment in time, money and resources spent.

The LIS-CSR Sub-Committee will communicate, promote, maintain and advance the CSR policy to all stakeholders and commits to annually review the LIS-CSR policy.
